Freezer repair by brand

Our freezer repair work covers Frigidaire, GE, Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Samsung and LG. Chest and upright models fail differently: a chest freezer usually has a simple static cooling system, while frost-free uprights add fans and a defrost circuit that are common repair points.

See the full brand list. Our repairs carry a 30-day warranty on labor and parts.

Finding the model number

On freezers, the model and serial number are usually inside on a side wall on uprights, and on the outside back or side on chest freezers. Read it to us when you call.

Common questions

How long does food last in a freezer that stopped working?

The USDA says a full freezer holds its temperature for about 48 hours if the door stays closed, and a half-full one for about 24 hours.

Is frost in my freezer normal?

A light dusting on a manual-defrost chest freezer is normal. Heavy frost on a frost-free model points to a defrost problem or a leaking gasket.

Can food be refrozen after a freezer fails?

The USDA says food can be refrozen if it still has ice crystals or has stayed at 40°F or below. Throw out anything that has been warmer for more than 2 hours.
